A workshop on ‘Climate Change and Human Health’ was organized in Bhubaneswar’, Odisha on 30th January, 2019 in collaboration with Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA) and Indian Institute Public Health Bhubaneswar. This workshop encompassed the research study; ‘Climate Adaptive Action Plans to Manage Heat Stress in Indian Cities’. Mr. Rohit Magotra discussed in detail the preliminary findings of the study which were derived from the field survey done in Bhubaneswar city to analyse the impact of heat stress on health, livelihood and productivity of the vulnerable populations. The workshop was well attended by 50 plus participants hailing from; Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA) and Indian Institute of Public Health-Bhubaneswar, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Meteorological Centre Bhubaneswar, National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar (IIT-B).
