Interactive Stakeholders workshop for Evolving Rajkot Heat Stress Action Plan

Organized in collaboration with Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) and Indian Institute of Public Health, Gandhinagar (IIPH-G). The objective of this workshop was to bring all the concerned city stakeholders on a common platform to have dialogue on the draft HSAP developed by IRADe and improvise it with stakeholder inputs. The workshop was attended by 75 plus city/state level officials including city Municipal Commissioner, Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Municipal Commissioners and officials from various departments; Health, Water works, Parks and Garden, Town Planning, Urban Development, Smart City, Disease control, Fire control and likewise. Heat Wave Preparedness Actions Taken by RMC (2017-18), Need for a Climate Adaptive Heat Stress Action Plan, Heat waves in Rajkot -Historical trends and future projections, Introduction to Heat Action Plan – Frameworks, Components and Roles and Responsibilities of various Stakeholders, Heat Hot spots in Rajkot and heat wave vulnerability were covered in the workshop. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Banchhanidhi Pani, Municipal Commissioner.
